Day 2 of being 26 and day 3 of my no sugar challenge...yesterday I was on a high, today was more of a low. Realising I'm getting old + massive sugar withdrawals = cranky Ashley. I'll get through this right? I'm sure my friends and coworkers hope so! Until then, my apologies to anyone who has to deal with me. Also, seeing as I'm on this no sugar challenge I've been eating copious amounts of vegetables, I was even laughed at today for gnawing on raw that weird? I'll admit it doesn't taste that good, and I suppose I look more like a rabbit than a human being, but it's only 27 more days! And in the next 27 days I'm going to do all I can to add flavour to my meat and vegetables (because that's about all I'm eating) so tonight I came up with these tasty balsamic roasted brussels sprouts made with some dressing and seasoning my coach uses for loads of things!


  • 1 lb brussels sprouts
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp sweet paprika
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 375F
  2. Clean and cut off the ends of the brussels sprouts
  3. Whisk together the balsamic vinegar, dijon mustard, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, sweet paprika, salt and pepper
  4. In a bag or a large bowl drizzle the dressing over the brussels sprouts and shake or toss to coat evenly 
  5. Place in the oven and roast for 45 minutes
