I recently posted a recipe for Simple Date Balls because they were just that, simple! Simply blend some dates with a few other ingredients and you've got yourself a quick delicious treat. These are also simple, but take a tad bit more work (not a lot, just a tad) but the flavour you get is so worth it! This is another delicious recipe from my crossfit coach.

  • 1 cup dates, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup mixed raw nuts, ground to crumbles (I used cashew, almond, macadamia and brazil nuts)
  • Sesame seeds

  1. In a pot combine the dates, orange juice and cinnamon and let simmer for about 10 minutes covered with a lid
  2. In a separate frying pan toast the sesame seeds
  3. Move the dates and orange juice to a large bowl and allow to cool, then mix in the ground nuts and roll into balls
  4. Place the toasted sesame seeds on a plate and roll the date balls around coating them with the sesame seeds
  5. Refrigerate then serve
